The Malaysian Society of Intensive Care was registered with the Registrar of Societies on 11 June 2009. It was a memorable day for all those who are interested in the field of intensive care.
Since the world-wide poliomyelitis epidemic in the 1950s which saw the use of tracheostomy, chest physiotherapy and manual positive pressure ventilation by medical students in Copenhagen in 1952, the science of intensive care has developed at a tremendous pace all over the world.
It may be considered long overdue for the formation of the Malaysian Society of Intensive Care. However it is never too late.
Lets join the Society and contribute to the development of intensive care, however small the contribution may be.
From the President
